The Honeywell N5600 Series represents the industry benchmark in ultra-miniature OEM 2D area-imaging barcode scan engines. Powered by Honeywell’s advanced Adaptus® 6.0 Imaging Technology, the N5600 Series delivers aggressive, snappy decoding of all standard 1D, 2D, and PDF417 barcodes, as well as postal codes and OCR fonts, on both paper and reflective smartphone screens. Designed specifically for OEM engineers and device manufacturers, the N5600 Series offers flexible optics, aiming choices, and modular architecture for space-constrained integration.
Key Enterprise Features
- Adaptus® 6.0 Imaging Performance: Delivers superior reading speed, extraordinary motion tolerance (up to 584 cm/s / 230 in/s), and exceptional depth of field across challenging, damaged, or poorly printed barcodes.
- Laser & LED Aiming Flexibility: Available with a sharp 650 nm high-visibility crosshair laser aimer for outdoor sunlight visibility, or a bright, eye-safe green/red LED aimer bar for consumer-facing kiosks and healthcare environments.
- Wide Angle & Standard Range Optics: Features Standard Range (SR), Extended Range (ER), High Density (HD), and specialized Wide Angle (WA) optics designed for slim, flush fixed-mount enclosures with a minimum read distance of just 2.3 cm (1 inch).
- TotalFreedom® 2.0 Open Architecture: Second-generation software development platform enables custom image processing, parsing algorithms, and value-added software plug-ins (including Honeywell EasyDL™ driver's license parsing) directly on the engine.
- Modular Hardware Options: Available as the ultra-compact N5600 optics engine (pairs with external miniature decoder board) or the self-contained N5680 decoded scan engine with integrated onboard decoding electronics.
- Extended Temperature Operation: Industrial-grade design functions reliably from -30°C to 60°C (-22°F to 140°F) to support harsh outdoor field environments and cold-storage operations.
