The Honeywell N360X Series (N3601 and N3603) represents Honeywell's "better performance" tier of miniature, undecoded 2D barcode scan engines engineered for compact handheld mobile devices, payment terminals, medical equipment, and automated kiosks. Featuring a 1-megapixel global imager sensor, white illumination LED, and high-efficiency optical design, the N360X delivers extended reading range, high-density barcode resolution, and fast frame rates up to 30 fps.
Designed for versatile OEM integration, the N360X series offers a choice between a 521 nm visible green LED aimer (N3601) for eye-safe and healthcare applications, and a 650 nm high-visibility Class 2 red laser crosshair aimer (N3603) for precise long-distance alignment. With support for both parallel and MIPI interfaces, native 1.8 V signal level compatibility, low typical current draw (152–170 mA), and compact dimensions (8.1 mm × 22 mm × 10.8 mm), the N360X provides exceptional design flexibility and long battery life in demanding embedded environments.
Key Features & Benefits
- 1 MP CMOS Imager: High-resolution 1-megapixel sensor and white LED illumination enhance image capture and provide superior readability on color-printed and mobile screen barcodes.
- Aimer System Flexibility: Available as the N3601 with an eye-safe 521 nm green LED dot aimer, or the N3603 with a crisp 650 nm Class 2 laser aimer for quick target acquisition.
- Ultra-Compact Lightweight Form Factor: Measuring only 8.1 mm × 22 mm × 10.8 mm and weighing as little as 1.8 g (N3601) or 5 g (N3603), fitting effortlessly into ultra-slim mobile designs.
- Flexible Interface & 1.8 V Signals: Available with Parallel or MIPI camera interfaces and 1.8 V logic levels for direct compatibility with next-generation mobile application processors.
- Ultra-Low Power Consumption: Typical operating current of 152 mA (MIPI) to 170 mA maximizes mobile device battery runtime.
- Advanced OCR & EasyParse Support: Integrates seamlessly with Honeywell software microservices for optional OCR, boarding passes, and driver's license parsing (Honeywell EasyParse).
- Exceptional Ruggedness: Withstands operating temperatures from -20°C to 50°C, shocks up to 3,500 G, and ambient lighting up to 100,000 lux (bright sunlight).
