The Honeywell N4680 Series (including N4680 SR with USB and TTL interfaces) is a fully integrated, one-piece decoded 2D barcode scan engine powered by Honeywell's advanced decoding architecture. With all decoding hardware and firmware self-contained in a miniature 3.3 g footprint, the N4680 requires no external decoder board, secondary processor, or complex host decoding libraries. It is engineered as a seamless mechanical and electrical drop-in replacement for the legacy Honeywell N3680 Series, while dramatically increasing scanning responsiveness and motion tolerance.
Featuring a 640 × 480 global shutter sensor, the N4680 Series achieves up to 120 frames per second and an outstanding 6 m/s (236 in/s) motion tolerance—a 60× performance leap over conventional rolling-shutter modules (0.1 m/s). This extreme snappiness makes the N4680 ideal for high-throughput self-service kiosks, medical diagnostic instruments, mobile POS sleds, access control turnstiles, and automated factory equipment. It also supports Honeywell TotalFreedom plugin architecture for embedded parsing routines like EasyDL, driver's licenses, and OCR decoding.
